What’s Involved With Safe Installation?

For a safe to be installed properly, we must know what kind of flooring will be under the safe. If it’s a concrete floor, we can use a masonry drill bit to create a hole in the floor directly under the safe mounting hole. Most of our safes come with a pre-made hole in the bottom of the safe so the safe can be anchored to a surface. (This does not affect the fire rating or warranty when properly installed.) 

If you have a wooden floor, we can drill into that and anchor the safe directly to the hardwood. Ideally, we’ll drill into a joist for added security, but one is not always directly beneath the safe.

Why Do I Need My Safe Installed? 

A safe is no good to you if a burglar can pick it up and take it with them. The goal is to protect your property and keep it in your house or business. If the burglar can leave with the safe, they’ll have all the time in the world to break into the safe. Even if you safe is heavy, burglars are very determined, they’ll find a way to move it. We can’t tell you how many robberies we’ve seen over our 30+ years in business. Burglars will do all sorts of things including running away with a safe that was not bolted down.
